On either side of the central panel are beautifully wrought marble figures of saints Peter & Paul, and the four evangelists, Saints Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. The marble is generally Italian Botticino and the figures and carved panel are of white Carrara marble slightly stained to harmonize with other marble. The altar, made in Italy, was added in 1924.
